What about the run?

The run is open to ICML CONGRESS participants and its proceeds will be used for the already committed project in Kenya (Paradigm Cookstoves and Water, Kenya) a step towards mitigating climate change globally and a contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals set out by the United Nations (Paradigm Cookstoves and Water, Kenya)

Start Time: 8.30 pm

Start Location: Via Foce, 6900 Lugano

Bibs distribution and late registrations: On race day at the Padiglione Conza, 12.00 am - 7.30 pm

Distance: 5.450 Km (3.4 miles)

Starting at 9 PM Pasta Party and Award Ceremony following the race at the Padiglione Conza (where bibs are collected)

Race Rules & Regulations

 

  1. Completion of the official Application Form, including online registration, confirms the Participant’s agreement to abide by the relevant rules and regulations.

  2. In regard to the charitable scope of the event, participants have the choice to apply for the standard fee or make a free amount donation.

  3. Registrations are limited to the first 300 participants.

  4. Pre-registrations are open on the race website until 19 June at midnight and must be fulfilled immediately by Credit Card. Main providers are accepted (VISA, VISA DEBIT, MAESTRO, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS).

  5. Registrations on Race day are held at the Padiglione Conza, 12.00 am - 7.30 pm.

  6. Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the Participants’ safety, Participants run at their own risk and the Organiser will not be responsible or held liable for any loss or damage, personal or otherwise, injury or death, howsoever arising during participation in the race.

  7. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day.

  8. Due to safety reasons, pets, bicycles, in-line skates, prams, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed on the course other than official race and medical vehicles.

  9. All participants are responsible for their own safety during the event. All participants must also observe traffic regulations.

  10. The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the ICML Climate Protection Run 2019, for any legitimate purpose, including commercial advertising and distribution to sponsors and partners.

  11. Participants must wear the assigned bib number on his/her chest. Participants who are not wearing a bib number will not be considered as participants by the volunteers, neither the medical service or photographers.

  12. The Organiser reserves the right to limit and/or refuse entries without giving any reason.

  13. A Participant must retire from the race immediately, if required to do so by any member of the Organiser and/or Security Officer.

  14. A Participant retiring during the race must announce his retirement to the volunteers or to the timing staff by the finish line.

  15. The Organiser will not entertain nor be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete registration details.

  16. Once registration has been duly processed, there will be no fee refund for participants who do not eventually take part in the event for whatever reason.

  17. Participants below the age of 18 who are participating in the run are required to seek parental/guardian consent and complete the relevant indemnity declaration forms as deemed necessary by the Organiser upon registration. Failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any participant.

  18. There are two (2) race categories: Man, Woman. Races are non-competitive.

  19. Races are timed with an electronic timing system. Timing Chips behind the bib are disposable.

  20. Race entry is strictly non-transferable due to the charitable scope of the event.

  21. All Participants who successfully complete the race in their elected category will be awarded a finisher gift.

  22. All Participants shall collect their bib on race day, location and opening times are published in the race information section of the race web page.

  23. In the event of inclement weather, the Organisers reserve the right to delay the commencement of the race. Should the inclement weather persist after delay, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the event without any refund of pre-paid registration fees.

  24. No showers will be available after the race
